PAS DE DEUX: Benjamin Millepied and Mélanie Laurent were among guests at the cocktail event hosted by La Perla on Thursday night at its newly revamped store on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris.

Millepied was fresh off the premiere of “The Nutcracker” at the Paris Opera the previous night.

“I’ll be in Paris for the holidays because there are two shows — ‘La Source’ and ‘The Nutcracker,’”said the new director of the Paris Opera Ballet, sporting a Dior suit and a La Perla shirt from the new men’s collection designed by Emiliano Rinaldi.

“It’s magical to be in Paris for the holidays. It will be a first for me. We might go to Rome for a weekend. I want to take advantage of being based here to take getaways in Europe,” said Millepied, who is married to actress Natalie Portman.

Mélanie Laurent will appear in Angelina Jolie’s film “By the Sea,” which also features her “Inglourious Basterds” co-star Brad Pitt and fellow French actor Melvil Poupaud.

“It’s a film that she wrote and directed about love. It puts in contrast the darkness of a couple that grows apart and a newly married couple,” Laurent said. “With Melvil, we felt very fortunate to work with them — we felt like a couple of little Frenchies.”

The film was shot in Gozo, a small island near Malta, and Laurent wears La Perla lingerie in a couple of scenes. “It’s set in the Seventies, so the clothes are from that period,” the French actress noted.

The Italian lingerie brand’s Paris boutique has been redesigned and expanded in line with its new retail concept, which has already been implemented in Italy, London, Macau and New York. It includes a space dedicated to the men’s collection, a VIP salon on the first floor offering made-to-measure and a winter garden.

The men’s segment could represent as much as 40 percent of the brand’s business from around 20 percent currently, according to Joëlle Pellegrin, La Perla general manager Europe. The La Perla men’s collection for spring 2015 is available in around 100 doors worldwide including Selfridges, Le Bon Marché and El Corte Inglés. La Perla’s first dedicated men’s store is on Via Manzoni in Milan, and new locations are planned for Burlington Arcade in London in January 2015 and another on London’s Mount Street next June.
