Lane Crawford is once again on the hunt for fresh design talent coming out of China. The Hong Kong-based luxury retailer will hold its second annual talent call in Hong Kong on April 6 and Shanghai on April 8 to find new designers working in the categories of women’s wear, men’s wear, home goods and accessories. The store is also looking for creatives in the fields of gourmet foods, beauty and gifting — an expansion of the competition from last year.

The retailer said applicants need to be registered and based in Hong Kong or in China and have been established for less than three years. Lane Crawford will buy products for its stores in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Chendgu as well as its online store for the Christmas and Chinese New Year season. The store is putting an increasing emphasis on stocking Chinese designers recently. It currently carries some 20 brands across all categories including Uma Wang and Ziggy Chen.

Lane Crawford is also calling on photographers, artists, writers and film directors to show their work as the store might hire them for upcoming campaigns, events, window displays and photo shoots.
