L.A.’S SMASHBOX STUDIOS REOPENS: After a year-long renovation, Smashbox Studios marked its reopening with a bash Thursday night in Los Angeles. Janice Dickinson, Cassie Scerbo, Pia Toscano, Zendaya Coleman and Ashlee Keating were among those who turned out for the event, which included live performances by recording artist Andra Day and DJ So Super Sam. Also keeping guests busy throughout the evening were in-house makeup touch-ups and a variety of art installations, including the Bing Cadillac from Art Basel. “I’ve been wearing Smashbox makeup forever,” said Dickinson. “I’m very excited to be here tonight.” Founded in 1990 by Max Factor heirs Dean and Davis Factor, the 25,000-square-foot studio was redone in partnership with Industrial Color Brands, a creative production software company, and the architectural firm Gensler. The new space features high-tech upgrades such as revamped sound stages with iPad controlled lighting and sound systems, a wood-paneled café and custom-designed makeup tables.
