LATEST EDITION: Owning a Balenciaga Forties evening gown or fitted top will soon be attainable for fashion devotees who shop at Le Bon Marché in Paris. Another collection of Balenciaga Edition, a selection of clothes carefully chosen from couturier Cristobal Balenciaga’s original designs, will go on sale exclusively at the department store from Sept. 11 until Oct. 5. Balenciaga Edition launched in 2004 with six interpretations of archival designs, as a pre-fall collection. This year, 19 pieces dating between 1932 and 1967 will be revived and reinterpreted using modern techniques. Le Bon Marché will also showcase Balenciaga-designed jewelry from the same era as part of the collection.

I AM WOMAN: Diane von Furstenberg summed up the night: “I love women and I love jewelry,” said the designer, who glittered in her own designs from her line with jeweler H. Stern on Monday night at the Women’s Jewelry Association Awards, where she accepted the Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award. Real estate magnate and jewelry designer Ivanka Trump and Ulrich Wohn, president and chief executive officer in North America of LVMH Watch & Jewelry, were among those who came to the ceremony and dinner to fete the night’s winners including: Gemological Institute of America president and ceo Donna Baker with the Corporate Award for Excellence; Jewelers of America president and ceo Matt Runci with the WJA Ben Kaiser Lifetime Achievement Award; Gena Alulis of Cliq by Superfit for manufacturer/dealer supplier; Kathy Corey of Day’s Jewelers for retail with fewer than 15 stores; Brandee Dallow of Julius Klein Group for marketing and communications; Dionne Kenyon of the Jewelers Board of Trade for special services category; Cheryl Kremkow of Modern Jeweler for editorial/reporting/publishing; Ann Lagos of Anne King Design for fine jewelry and watch design; Robin Lutin of JCK Magazine for sales, and Bea Spiech of Macy’s for retail with more than 15 stores.

MULBERRY FLIES IN: Despite having closed its Melrose Place boutique last spring, Mulberry hasn’t abandoned the Los Angeles market. London-based staffers brought the fall collection to Chateau Marmont for stylist and celebrity appointments (where Kate Bosworth stopped by) and hosted a dinner there Tuesday night for editors. Cat Deeley and beau Jack Huston made a late appearance, but all was forgiven when the blonde Brit turned up carrying a blue metallic Bayswater clutch.

GRAY GIVES BACK: Royal Underground, the men’s and women’s fashion label run by former St. John model-creative director Kelly Gray and Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx, will be giving back during the fall season by donating one piece of clothing for every piece sold at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s to Covenant House California. The charity benefits homeless and runaway youth, and Sixx said he has benefited from its programs in the past. “We’ve been able to manage growth in this economy, which I didn’t think was possible,” said Gray. “We’ve been able to find a niche, which is what I’ve always been good at.”

MINTER MADNESS: Marilyn Minter seems to be the name on everyone’s lips these days. Madonna bought the artist’s “Green Pink Caviar” video to serve as a backdrop in her Sticky & Sweet tour and MAC enlisted her to create images using the cosmetic firm’s fall pigments. Now Intermix is unveiling its own collaboration, which has been in the works since spring: a limited edition tote bag featuring a still from the “Green Pink Caviar” film. The bag, which retails for $48, will be hitting all Intermix stores this October, in celebration of National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Proceeds will go toward nonprofit group Bright Pink.

But that’s not the only Minter-meets-Intermix moment to come that month — the retailer’s New York and Los Angeles outposts will also be showcasing the trailer to the movie. Minter herself will open an exhibit at Regen Projects II gallery in L.A.
