LONDON BOUND: Sass & Bide is ditching New York Fashion Week to head back to its London roots for fall 2015, but it will be the first time without founders Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke. The London Fashion Week show will unveil the first collection by Sass & Bide’s new design director, Anthony Cuthbertson, a British native who previously worked with brands including Daks, Max Mara, Sportsmax, Moncler, Burlington, René Lezard and Amanda Wakeley. Middleton and Clarke, who launched the brand in 1999 selling customized denim from a Portobello Market stall, exited Sass & Bide in July, after selling the remaining 35 percent of the company to Myer, Australia’s biggest department-store chain, in September 2013 for 30 million Australian dollars, or $28 million. Myer acquired 65 percent of the company for 42.3 million Australian dollars, or $42.8 million, in February 2011.
