LONDON GOES ON THE ROAD: The British Fashion Council is expanding its London Show Rooms project — a travelling showcase for London designers — to two new cities. In addition to showing London-based designers’ collections in Paris and New York showrooms this season, the BFC will show the lines in Los Angeles and Hong Kong. London Show Rooms Los Angeles will take place Oct. 17 to 19, featuring designers Erdem, Jonathan Saunders, Marios Schwab, Mary Katrantzou, Nicholas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto, Richard Nicoll, Roksanda Ilincic, Todd Lynn and E. Tautz, while London Show Rooms Hong Kong will be on from Oct. 31 through Nov. 1. Venues for both new cities are yet to be confirmed.
The Hong Kong event is sponsored by Li & Fung, and is part of the China British Fashion Alliance, which was established in July between the BFC, the Beijing International Brand Management Center and the China-Britain Business Council, to promote British fashion in China. The London Show Rooms event in Paris will take place Sept. 29 through Oct. 6 at the Le Loft space in the city. The New York event will take place Nov. 9 and 10 at the Soho Grand.
