THIS NEW HOUSE: Lorry Newhouse unveiled the youthful, sportswear-driven 740 by Lorry Newhouse collection Wednesday morning at 1440 Broadway. In addition to her husband Mark, the designer had the support of one of her most ardent fans — “Real Housewives of New York City’s” Heather Thomson. About to meet the reality star for the first time, Newhouse said, “She wears all my clothes on the show. Every time I turn it on she has on this frou-frou light yellow fil coupe dress. It works — it really works.”
Newhouse said she is still doing her signature collection but she is focusing on accessories, including her line of gloves with Daniel Storto, for the time being. “In the next show, I might just do accessories. I might do the [ready-to-wear] line again. I’m just veering off a little bit and experimenting,” she said. “I’m just thinking outside of the box a little bit. Maybe I will do bags or even waist packs, and maybe shoes.”
Meanwhile, Newhouse’s daughter Charlotte just signed a deal with Comedy Central to develop “Idiotsitter,” the Web series she writes and stars in with “Workaholic’s” Jillian Bell, into a full-fledged show. Set to debut next fall, the show features Charlotte Newhouse babysitting for a 23-year-old woman who is under house arrest and needs to be looked after.
