GREEN THUMB: Despite all the brick and mortar, Macy’s is thinking green with a new campaign to improve 550 parks and community gardens around the country. Enhancing ball fields, trails and playgrounds are part of the agenda. Macy’s, working with the National Recreation and Park Association, is asking shoppers to donate $1 or more at the registers or via to the “Heart Your Park” campaign and stores will match the dollars, up to $250,000. The campaign starts Friday and runs through March 31.
