ONE-STOP SHOP: Designer Aura Cercel’s new showroom and boutique has opened its doors on Rodeo Drive. Maison Haute, totaling 1,500 square feet in Beverly Hills, offers a mix of wholesale, private shopping, styling and closet organization services.
Cercel—founder of the red carpet evening wear line Eva Culture Inc. and basics brand Weekend Label LLC—said she wanted an environment that could serve as an alternative to the typical retail experience. “Everybody sells the same thing in L.A. unfortunately,” she said. “The showrooms, the buyers they want to play it safe. I feel like nobody is taking any risks anymore.”
Four stylists, including Cercel, are available to members of which she already has 80.
Cercel, who came to Los Angeles nearly eight years ago from Romania, launched her showroom boutique with 10 lines from Romanian designers in addition to her own labels. Some of the lines featured include Pas Du Tout, Venera Arapu, Murmur, Divine Atelier Bridal and Adellina Ivan. Each designer features two collections, one available for wholesale and the other to sell at Maison Haute.
The showroom, over time, will eventually explore other designers in Europe, according to Cercel.
There’s also bridal gowns priced at what Cercel described as “very friendly price points” in the $3,000 range.
“I don’t want to die over something that I can’t afford for something that everybody [is] going to want to buy and everybody has,” she said.
Maison Haute is open by appointment only.
