MAJE’S MAJOR APPETITE: French contemporary brand Maje celebrated the latest fruit of its major retail expansion push, a 2,000-square-foot store bearing the label’s new retail concept on Spring Street in Manhattan, with a Gallic-American dinner at downtown restaurant Dirty French, hosted by Maje founder Judith Milgrom and Daniel LaLonde, president and chief executive officer of SMCP Group. SMCP spells the initials of the group’s three brands: Sandro, Maje and “Anyone know what CP stands for?” asked LaLonde during his toast.

“Cute Parisians?” answered Mickey Boardman quick with the quip. The correct response was Claudie Pierlot.

Editors got to experience the cuisine from the latest, impossible-to-get-a-reservation-at restaurant from Major Food Group’s Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick, with a post-dinner acoustic musical performance by the Lou Doillon, the epitome of the skinny, pretty, popular French girl and face of Maje’s campaign.
