Marchon Eyewear has named Thomas Burkhardt senior vice president of global licensing and marketing, a newly created position.

In his new role, Burkhardt is responsible for managing licensed brand teams, in-house brands, and sports divisions both domestically and abroad. He will also oversee the global marketing, media, creative and public relations components of Marchon’s many licenses.

He will report to Marchon Eyewear chief executive officer Claudio Gottardi.

Prior to Marchon, Burkhardt led Coty Inc.’s Calvin Klein fragrance and cosmetics division as vice president of global marketing for five years. Prior to Coty, he spent a swath of time at Procter & Gamble in Europe.

Speaking about Burkhardt’s appointment, Gottardi said: “I am pleased that we are starting 2016 with the opportunity to bring all of our licenses and owned brands together under the leadership of Thomas Burkhardt.
