ALEXA ON THE ARCHIVES: Marks & Spencer has teamed with Alexa Chung on a fashion collection that will debut this April.

Archive by Alexa is a 31-piece line created by Chung and the Marks & Spencer design team. Chung sifted through the retailer’s fashion archives to compile her edited range. The price range for the collection is 19.50 pounds, or $28, to 89 pounds, or $129. It will be available for purchase in selected Marks & Spencer stores and on marksandspencer.com.

“I have always had an affection for Marks & Spencer,” said Chung. “There was something very touching about looking back through the British fashion and social history for which M&S is synonymous.”

This partnership begins the retailer’s “M&S &” series, which includes collaborations with various designers, labels and fashion industry figures.

“It was a hugely insightful experience allowing Alexa full access to our company archive,” Steve Rowe, executive director of general merchandise at Marks & Spencer. “Marks & Spencer’s history is vast and quality design has always been paramount; therefore using our expertise and classic designs and Alexa’s unique eye and approach to style, our collaboration was born. A new women’s wear collection, curated by Alexa, with heritage firmly at its heart.”
