“We wanted to create a total theater experience, surrounded by different performances,” said Carolina Castiglioni, Marni’s director of special projects.
Dancers wearing Marni costumes and inspired by Oskar Schlemmer and the Bauhaus movement performed repetitive and slow actions, either on swings suspended from the ceiling or supported by surreal props such as an oversized table and chair set. The roundness, angularity and colors of the glasses was reflected in the costumes and fun wigs. “Each costume has an identity and represents a glass model,” said Castiglioni.
The event was timed to also coincide with international eyewear trade show Mido.
