Martha Stewart Living will enter the home products market in South Korea in fall 2017.
The brand’s owner, Sequential Brands Group, has signed a long-term agreement with Fang Brothers Group FB Living. The initial line will include Martha Stewart bedding, bath and seasonal housewares in spring 2017, to be followed by kitchen cookware, dinnerware and storage in the fall.
Yehuda Shmidman, Sequential Brands’ chief executive officer, said, “Entering the rapidly emerging home furnishing market in South Korea is another important and exciting step in our global growth strategy to expand the Martha Steward brand in Asia.”
Katherine Fang, FB Living’s ceo, said, “There is no one else who has had such an influence on the way Americans think about their homes than Martha Stewart and we’re honored to be the team to introduce her brand, which is known for exceptional quality and style.”
Sequential said that product offering will feature both classic looks and fun, modern designs.
The agreement follows Martha Stewart’s appearance in China last week as the keynote speaker at Alibaba’s first-ever Tmall Super Kitchen event. An agreement regarding a partnership between Sequential and Alibaba for the Martha Stewart Living brand in China is expected to be forthcoming in the months ahead.
