MATHUR JOINS ARTSPACE.COM: Kinjil Mathur, vice president of digital marketing for Saks Fifth Avenue for the last five years, has been tapped as chief marketing officer of, effective immediately.

Mathur comes to Artspace with over a decade of e-commerce and digital marketing experience within the luxury sector. While at Saks, she was part of a team that developed the company’s first flash-sale site and drove steady growth for the international division. That team led the company to more than quadruple its online business during her tenure. Before that, she was online marketing manager, performance marketing at Condé Nast.

At Artspace, her primary focus will be to translate the higher personal experience of shopping in a brick-and-mortar gallery setting to the online sphere, and elevate’s presence within the digital landscape. She is also charged with developing and implementing innovative digital marketing strategies to expand’s growing network of collectors worldwide. was founded in 2011 by Christopher Vroom and Catherine Levene. The site, which raised $8.5 million in Series B funding in February, is an online platform where collectors can purchase works by top contemporary artists directly from leading commercial galleries and cultural institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

A spokeswoman for Saks said a successor hasn’t been named.
