MEAL TICKET: AvroKO, the design team behind hip downtown eateries Double Crown, PUBLIC and Stanton Social, is getting into the fashion game. The company has teamed up with sportswear label Mona & Holly to create a limited edition line of retro-chic dresses, skirts and shorts for spring. Starting next month, pieces from The AvroKO Collection for Mona & Holly, which retail for $75 to $365, will hit racks at a handful of high-end boutiques across the country, including Otte in New York and Kaveri in Chicago. And come May, the designs will also be on display at Double Crown and PUBLIC, where hostesses will wear looks from the collaboration as part of their uniform.
DIESEL ON THE HUNT?: Diesel is looking for a new chief executive officer, according to sources. It appears Diesel veteran Marina Tosin, who currently acts as vice president and chief executive officer of both Diesel and its parent company, Only the Brave Srl., will focus full time on the latter. The move is seen as a way to streamline operations and have a dedicated person manage Diesel exclusively, given the growth of both parent company and the jeans and sportswear brand. Only the Brave president Renzo Rosso will continue to also be president of Diesel. The new executive is expected to join the company in three to six months. In light of Diesel’s expansion and product extension, sources say Rosso is also reconsidering the role of the brand’s creative director, a post that may be held by more than one person. Current creative director Wilbert Das is said to be mulling an exit from the company he joined more than two decades ago, as his contract expires at the end of the year.
BEDTIME STORIES: The perfectly fluffed pillows in the windows of Calvin Klein Collection’s Madison Avenue flagship don’t give an actual signal that the company’s hard-working executives are in dire need of a nap. Far from it. Calvin Klein Home donated several pillowcases to support a collaboration between artist Jonathan Horowitz, whose work is currently on display at the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, and the Art Production Fund. The fund, cofounded by Yvonne Force Villareal and Doreen Remen, produced Horowitz’s Pillow Talk Cases, featuring rotating pairs of white Calvin Klein pillowcases silk-screened with names of uberfamous couples, like “Barack” and “Michelle,” “Sam” and “Lindsay,” and “Bert” and “Ernie.” Some of the pillow creations are now also installed at the Collection store windows and in its home department. A limited edition of the pillowcases are on sale at the store, as well as at P.S.1 and the fund’s Web site. All proceeds will benefit the fund.

ARMANI’S MUSEUM NIGHT: For Giorgio Armani, awards season isn’t over yet. Twelve iconic red-carpet gowns will be on display from Tuesday to March 31 at the designer’s Rodeo Drive boutique, including Anne Hathaway’s Armani Privé gown from this year’s Golden Globes, Halle Berry’s Armani dress from the 2003 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Aishwarya Rai’s 2005 Cannes Film Festival gown and Jodie Foster’s 2002 Oscar dress. An invite-only party on Tuesday will raise funds for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in partnership with Vanity Fair. LACMA isn’t the only one turning to the fashion world to preserve its funds. The beleaguered Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) will be the beneficiary of a Decades fashion show held in its courtyard on Thursday, the debut event from the newly formed Downtown Los Angeles Fashion Week.
NICK AT NIGHT: A new book on the work of Alexander McQueen is in the works. London-based photographer Nick Waplington documented the designer as he prepared his collection for the runway last Tuesday in Paris. The book is due to come out next year.
FUN IN THE SUN: Over lunch at Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel last week, Veronica Webb met with Factory PR’s Ryan Brown and Marina Storonkin of MCM to discuss hosting a series of summer events in the Hamptons. Factory, which represents MCM and the Plaza Retail Collection, is planning to have an SUV upholstered in MCM’s historic Cognac Viseto leather on-hand to cart Webb from hot spot to hot spot. MCM opened its New York boutique at The Plaza in November and relaunched the logo-printed Cognac Viseto leather for spring. Details and a schedule of this summer’s events are still in negotiation.
