Michael Strahan, former National Football League-player-turned-fashion-entrepreneur; Judy Person, executive vice president and group president for Randa Accessories, and John Tighe, executive vice president, chief merchant at J.C. Penney Co. Inc., will be honored at the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund Geoffrey Beene National Scholarship Awards Dinner, which will be held on Jan. 12 at the Grand Hyatt in New York.

This is the 80th anniversary of the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit organization that pushes for education within fashion, arts and business, and the group will award more than 200 students from top fashion programs with over $1 million in scholarships.

“For 80 years, the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund has been the leader in identifying the best and brightest new talent for the fashion industry. This will continue, as in 2017 we will introduce more than 200 new scholarship winners,” said Douglas Evans, the executive director of the organization. “It is the leadership from our honorees that allows us to continue the tradition of giving back to the community, and supporting education and career pathway programs.”

Strahan partnered with Penney’s in 2015 on a line of suit separates and furnishings and has since expanded the collection to include shoes and activewear. Former honorees have included Ralph Lauren, Jessica Simpson, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Tommy Hilfiger.
