Montblanc Sets First U.S. Pop-up Shop

Luxury brand will partner with the St. Regis Washington D.C. Hotel on an in-lobby boutique during the Presidential Inauguration week, Jan. 18 to 22.

MONTBLANC’S CAPITAL IDEA: Montblanc said Thursday it will open its first U.S. pop-up shop during the Presidential Inauguration week in Washington, Jan. 18 to 22. The luxury brand will partner with the St. Regis Washington D.C. Hotel and publisher Thornwillow Press to collaborate on an in-lobby boutique that will offer an array of Montblanc leather goods, cuff links, timepieces and signature writing instruments. As a nod to President Obama’s second inauguration, Montblanc will offer a colorful bound book of Obama’s first inaugural address.

Several other presidents, including Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, James Madison and John Adams, will also be featured through Montblanc’s America’s Signature for Freedom collection of limited-edition presidential pens. The boutique will also launch a limited-edition, hand-printed letterpress book entitled “A Presidential Miscellany” that will be published by Thornwillow Press. The book, which will feature highlights of past inaugurations, will be available for sale in the boutique and be given to hotel guests during the inauguration week. Taking the concept full circle, visitors will also be encouraged to use Montblanc pens and stationary to participate in a letter-writing campaign to President Obama. The letters will then be delivered to the White House by St. Regis butlers.
