MORE SCERVINO: Ermanno Scervino is expanding globally. The designer’s namesake company has opened a boutique on the island of Ibiza, Spain, a country where it already counts a store in Madrid.

Chief executive officer Toni Scervino said further openings include venues in Dubai, Taipei, in Russia’s Krasnodar and Ukraine’s Dnepropetrovsk by September. These will raise the number of Scervino boutiques in the world to 39.

“Our focus on the new markets, where made in Italy is synonymous with values such as quality, beauty and luxury, is proving to be right on the nail,” said the executive, adding that he expects to close 2012 with a 3 percent gain in sales, boosted by exports, which account for 65 percent of revenues.

The Grassina, Italy-based company closed 2011 with turnover of 93 million euros, or $129.2 million at average exchange rates, up 3 percent compared with 2010.
