MOVING ON: The Valextra brand keeps seeing more changes. Last month the label named a new chief executive officer and this month, Alvaro Gonzalez, who joined the Italian accessories brand as design director, has left the company, according to industry sources. Gonzalez, an industry veteran and well-respected designer, has served as style director of accessories at Jimmy Choo and worked with brands including Stuart Weitzman, Tod’s, Loro Piana, Emilio Pucci, Valentino and Genny. His collections for Valextra won plaudits from press and buyers alike, and his last effort for the brand was spring, on show last month in Milan. The sources said he plans to focus on his namesake collection of men’s and women’s accessories, Alvaro, which he launched last year.
