NATORI CHAMPIONSHIP: The Natori camp may steal some of the spotlight from Tiger Woods at the kickoff Thursday of the PGA Championship at the Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, N.Y. Rob Labritz, golf pro at Glen Arbor, the Gary Player-designed golf club that Ken Natori helped to develop, qualified Monday to play in the national championship, and he’s going to wear a Natori-logoed cap and hang a Natori towel on his golf bag. Woods is favored to win, but Labritz may have a few smooth moves up his sleeve.
PGA officials qualified Labritz for what the PGA Web site described as an “amazing shot to make it into the PGA Championship.” Labritz used a 53-degree club — a club that’s between a sand wedge and a pitching wedge — for the birdie.
Maybe this is a sign The Natori Co. will be doing golf apparel and accessories in the future?
