IN THE PINK: Emanuel Ungaro has inked a new licensing pact with Italy’s Mariella Burani Fashion Group (MBFG) for its Ungaro Fuchsia women’s diffusion line. The fall-winter collection is to being presented to the trade this month, including at the Exclusive showroom in New York for the North American market, a key focus as the Paris house seeks a rejuvenation under its new English designer, Giles Deacon.
Ungaro had previously licensed its Fuchsia range with Jaya SRL, a subsidiary of MBFG, which was placed under government-backed bankruptcy protection last year, leading to a three-season interruption of Fuchsia deliveries. MBFG is currently being restructured by three state-appointed administrators who are managing the group. In October, for example, they signed a licensing agreement with Matthew Williamson for the production and distribution of the designer’s first diffusion collection Muse by Matthew Williamson.
