NEW OWNER: Sinv SpA now controls Piazza Sempione, which last October filed a court petition for restructuring with creditors.
In February, Piazza Sempione submitted a restructuring plan, including a proposal for renting and then selling the company to Sinv, which have been accepted by both the court and the creditors.
“The production entirely made in Italy and the strong presence in the U.S., along with the expansion into new markets, are the elements we want to exalt in order to start a new course for the company,” said Sinv general director and new Piazza Sempione chief executive officer Sandra Spinacè.
Sinv, which produces and distributes Love Moschino and See by Chloé collections, is controlled by Sinv Holding SpA. The latter also owns 30 percent of Moschino and 40 percent of men’s ready-to-wear and accessories brand Luca Roda Srl.
Piazza Sempione was previously controlled by Luxemburg-based SLPS — a holding company including LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton’s private equity fund L Capital; the brand’s founders Marisa Guerrizio and Roberto Monti, and ceo Enrico Morra.
