POPPING IN LONDON: London’s department store floors are fertile ground, and over the past week a series of new spaces — temporary and otherwise — has sprouted. Assouline has opened a 1,241-square-foot shop-in-shop inside Harrods’ Egyptian Room on the lower ground floor. The concession sells the “Impossible Collection” of books and bestsellers from its catalogue of more than 1,000 luxury lifestyle titles alongside leather book bags and a selection of exotic objets d’art curated by Prosper Assouline.

At nearby Harvey Nichols, Kim Winser, the former chief executive of Aquascutum and Pringle of Scotland, has opened a pop-up for her new brand, Winser London. The collection of accessibly priced cashmere, merino wool and silk classic separates launched online at winserlondon.com earlier this year, and this is the first time it’s appeared in-store. “I wanted to create a collection that was fast to market, with incredible quality and without huge price tags,” said Winser, who is working directly with yarn suppliers and factories. The pop-up will last for two months, and Winser said she is looking to do similar concepts with department stores in Europe and the U.S.

Across town at Selfridges’ beauty hall, The Fragrance Kitchen will be filling the air with its scents until the end of the month. Created by Kuwait’s Sheikh Majed Al-Sabah, TFK offers four main unisex lines inspired by Al-Sabah’s background and travels in the Middle East, Europe and Asia. Prices range from 100-150 pounds, or $160-$240, for 200ml bottles of eau de parfum.
