FOOT IN THE DOOR: Nicholas Kirkwood is stepping up his presence in the French capital.
The British footwear designer has launched a pop-up at Paris’ Galeries Lafayette department store, which is slated to run for 12 months. The 180-square-foot unit, which succeeds the designer’s ephemeral boutique at neighboring Printemps, is currently stocking Kirkwood’s “Arcs of Orbit” collection that features floral embroideries, python leather and cutout motifs.
“Paris is a key city in our global retail strategy. Our pop-up store initiatives have allowed us to continue to develop our presence and customer connectivity in focus markets,” said the brand’s chief executive officer Christopher Suarez, adding that with Galeries Lafayette’s international appeal, the location “acts as a gateway to other territories, which we are currently exploring.”
