ONE LAST ART ATTACK: The Whitney Museum of American Art will bid goodbye to the Upper East Side with one major blowout bash Nov. 19. For starters, all of the 98 living artists, who have had survey exhibitions in the Marcel Breuer–designed building, will be honored at the Whitney’s annual gala. Jasper Johns, Frank Stella, Ed Ruscha, Yoko Ono, Alex Katz, Ellsworth Kelly, Yayoi Kusama, Barbara Kruger, Bill Viola, Paul McCarthy, Kara Walker and Jeff Koons will be among the revelers enjoying a final party before the Whitney relocates to the Meatpacking District. Elvis Costello is on the docket to perform at the Louis Vuitton–supported event. “Elvis Costello has always been a huge supporter of the arts and one of New York’s most iconic living musicians. There’s no one more appropriate for such a significant moment for the Whitney,” said the museum’s director of special events Gina Rogak.
