PADDLE POWER: The tension was rising between London designers Mary Katrantzou and Marios Schwab as their bidding escalated for artsy lots at the charity auction to support Art Against Knives on Thursday night in London. Founded by Oliver Hemsley and Katy Dawe, the charity aims to raise awareness of gang culture. Among the lots at the auction, which took place at the Bethnal Green Town Hall, were works by Tracey Emin, Antony Gormley, Christopher Kane and Hussein Chalayan. Bianca Jagger snagged a Gormley drawing for 6,500 British pounds, or $10,106 at current exchange, while Lulu Kennedy hesitated to take up a paddle, for fear she might spend too much. Katrantzou, meanwhile, had donated one of her own designs to the auction. “I’ll be even happy if someone actually buys my dress tonight, I’m beginning to think nobody wants it!” she said.
