ROAD TRIP: Juicy Couture founders Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor will touch down in Savannah, Ga., today at the Savannah College of Art and Design for a talk during which the designers will discuss entrepreneurship and the launch of their new label, Pam & Gela. “We absolutely love getting to meet with young entrepreneurs and design students — it’s why we wrote our book, ‘The Glitter Plan,’ to encourage and inspire everyone who has a dream to just go for it,” Skaist-Levy told WWD. “If we can do it, anyone can.”
The designers have never been to the SCAD or Savannah. “We can’t wait to experience one of the most historic, charming cities in the South,” said Nash-Taylor.
The event, free and open to the public until April 15, is presented as part of the 11th annual SCADstyle, the international style and design event, which this year is chaired by Fern Mallis. The event is also held at SCAD locations in Atlanta and Hong Kong. This year’s SCADstyle focuses on design duos and the creative partnerships that drive successful work. Other designers to participate include Calvin Klein, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School, and Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim of Monse.
