TOASTING TABITHA: Karlie Kloss doesn’t shy away from heels, despite her six-foot-one stature. While the model enjoyed playing herself in the Opening Ceremony one-act play during New York Fashion Week, she doesn’t see Hollywood on the horizon.
“I’m a good foot taller than most actresses,” she said at the party feting stylist-slash-shoe designer Tabitha Simmons Thursday night at Paris’ Caviar Kaspia. “I would not fit in.”
Kloss and Simmons met about seven years ago. “She held her own with some pretty established models, so I knew she was always going to be OK,” said Simmons.
Kloss said she admired the “graceful balance” Simmons has struck between styling and designing.
Ruth and Tom Chapman of Matchesfashion.com, who have supported the designer from the get-go, hosted the event. COO Ulric Jerome also attended.
During her toast Ruth Chapman said they love wearing Simmons’ shoes, calling them “comfortable.”
Simmons emotionally thanked the retailer for its support and hosting the dinner, which had on its menu the infamous Parisian-by-way-of-Russia twice-baked potato.
Other guests included models with whom Simmons works and calls friends, such as Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
