Paul Andrew made his first Los Angeles splash, presenting his resort collection for stylists and editors at Palihouse in West Hollywood on Monday. The 2014 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner showed off his China-inspired collection with help from two live foot models. While he has no immediate plans for a retail store, Andrew is preparing to launch a men’s footwear line, possibly as soon as fall 2016. “It’s all designed, it’s just finding the right manufacturers. I’m meeting with quite a few shoe-makers in Italy because men’s shoes require a totally different process. In fact, they are more complicated to make than women’s shoes,” he said. Andrew, who wears oxford lace-ups nearly every day and buys the occasional Valentino shoe, sees a niche in the market for polished-looking everyday shoes. “Everyone’s doing a sneaker now, which I don’t really wear,” he said.
