PERRY POW-ER: Lisa Perry, whose designs carry a playful retro punch, is getting back into the wholesale game. A luncheon Thursday for Perry at Barneys New York celebrated the newfound partnership. Perry, who had a burgeoning wholesale business with retailers such as Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale’s and Harrods, pulled back the distribution two years ago to focus on her own retail ventures, a flagship on Madison Avenue and a store in Sag Harbor on Long Island.

“When I first met Lisa and she showed me her collection she said, ‘I make happy clothes,’” said Barneys chief executive officer Mark Lee. “Thank you for carrying the line,” Perry responded. “To paint circles on the walls makes me feel right at home.”

Circles, a key Perry motif, were everywhere. Proceeds from the sale of Perry’s collection on Thursday benefited the Lisa Perry Emergency Center at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Barneys is exclusively selling this season of Perry’s collection at its New York and Beverly Hills flagships.

As for Perry’s flagship, it’s moving one block north to Madison Avenue and 77th Street in the spring. “The other store was huge,” Perry said. “It was close to 4,000 square feet and it was in a former bank. The new one is closer to 2,000 square feet. It’s more shoppable.”
