When twins Hardeep and Mandeep Kaur talk about adopting a “less-is-more” approach to fashion, they really mean it. They eschew the rapid-fire showing of collection after collection that’s typical of most fashion brands, instead releasing just one signature coat style, issued in a new fabrication every two months, which allows them to focus on research and development of fabrics.
For the second edition, they were moved by “How to Live on 24 Hours a Day,” Arnold Bennett’s inspiring 108-year-old book about making the most of every day. So this time, the coat was done in that most functional of fabrics — Neoprene — in a versatile light gray. It has internal and external pockets, and a specially designed loop for earphones, making it a “bag-free option for women on the go.”
But style isn’t an afterthought: The chic three-quarter-length shape has short fluted sleeves, and is trimmed with a superfine cork fabric along its shawl collar and on the pocket bindings.
The coat is made-to-order and is available now on perse.london.
