PETER POPS UP: Peter Millar is opening a pop-up store in New York.

The high-end men’s wear label, which was purchased in September by Compagnie Financière Richemont SA, will take over the space at 36 East 57th Street currently occupied by Montblanc, another Richemont brand. The 2,000-square-foot store will open in October and remain in place for three months, said Scott Mahoney, chief executive officer of Peter Millar. Piaget will then take the location temporarily, until its permanent home at 730 Fifth Avenue is completed.

“We’re looking for a location for a New York store anyway, so this will be a good test for us,” Mahoney said.

Mahoney said the brand is also doubling the size of its Palm Beach store in Florida to around 1,000 square feet and that project should be completed in November. Peter Millar also operates a boutique in Southampton, N.Y.
