Marina Abramovic’s next performance piece? Accessories collaborator. Luxury Mexican lifestyle brand Pineda Covalin has paired with the Marina Abramovic Institute on a limited-edition scarf bearing the artist’s likeness.
“I had the pleasure of meeting Marina during the Pineda Covalin store opening in New York, during our celebration of International Women’s Day,” said designer Cristina Pineda. “It was an honor to meet a woman filled with such artistic and human power, a woman who appreciates the true meaning of simplicity and possesses the ability to transform the immaterial to [the] tangible.”
The scarf, retailing for $200, will be available for purchase exclusively at Pineda Covalin’s SoHo boutique.
A percentage of the proceeds will be donated directly to the Marina Abramovic Institute, which serves as an incubator and institute for emerging and established artists in the fields of performance art, dance, theater, film, music, opera, science, nature, technology and beyond.
