PIPING INTO WOMEN: Los Angeles-based men’s wear label Oliver Rayn has shuttered, and designer and co-founder Piper Gore has launched an eponymous line featuring both menswear and womenswear. Gore, a former Lucky Brand and Levi’s staffer who became a founding partner of Oliver Rayn in 2009, created her new company to encompass casual lifestyle luxury for men and women. Priced at $17 to $70 wholesale, the first women’s collection comprises basic tops and bottoms, maxiskirts and dresses in cotton jersey, French terry, mesh, linen and canvas. The men’s line continues to offer easy basics in similar fabrics with a soft color palette. In addition to retailers such as Fred Segal, Atrium and W Hotels, the line will sell on Vaniti.com and a branded e-commerce site is also in the works.
