LELA TAKES THREE: At Lela Rose’s Monday afternoon show before returning to her role on the second season of “Mr. Robot,” Portia Doubleday said the march of models is anything but mechanical. “Some of the girls’ walks are so interesting. There’s something really artistic about it,” she said. “It differs from show to show but some have a little bit of swag going on, which I think is really fun. I don’t find them to be robotic at all.
“Being at fashion week and seeing people be able to infuse what they believe into their clothes is great. I’ve never experienced anything like it,” said Doubleday, who is of no relation to the publishing house by the same name. “I wish — I’d have three lines by now in New York.”
Another actress by her side, the Chilean-born Lorenza Izzo, can now be seen in movie theaters in Eli Roth’s “The Green Inferno.” And Skyler Samuels of “Scream Queens” fame said her acting pursuits are temporarily under wraps. Samuels isn’t giving up her day job, but she is putting her Stanford University schooling to use. In two weeks she will launching a lifestyle, beauty and fashion app called Tipstart.
Rose, meanwhile, has her own fashion tips for fans by selling her three favorite runway looks on her e-commerce site immediately after the final turn. There shoppers can find a $1,295 black-and-white rib knit skirt with knit organza underlay, a $995 moss-colored embossed gazar bell-sleeve top and pencil skirt and a $2,995 geometric fil coupe shirt dress.
