Prada Said Eyeing Milan Café

The Italian firm denied that it plans to use the eatery to expand its Via Montenapoleone boutique.

CAFÉ SOCIETY: Could Prada Group wind up owning one of Milan’s most fashionable and famous coffee houses? The Italian firm declined to comment on speculation that it is poised to acquire Cova, located on Via Montenapoleone at the epicenter of the city’s luxury retail district.

But Prada, which has plans to build up its presence inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, denied that it plans to expand its Via Montenapoleone women’s boutique, which is located next to Cova.

Founded in 1817 by Antonio Cova, the café was originally located near the Teatro alla Scala, but was moved to Via Montenapoleone following extensive damage during the Second World War.
