PREMIUM PICKS: Trade show Premium crowned three up-and-coming faves Monday at its F95 concept store, on the eve of Berlin Fashion Week, which kicks off on Wednesday.
Taking home the women’s wear prize was Liebig, made up of Sandra Liermann, a former model and fashion editor, and Olivia Pflugfelder, who previously worked for Schumacher. The line of nine wearable dresses is cut from silk blended with just enough spandex to reduce wrinkling, and has found followers like Berlin’s Departmentstore Quartier 206 and the Stylebop Web shop, as well a series of lithe German starlets.
On the men’s side, Italian Berlin-based duo Sleep is Commercial woke things up, winning for layered urban nomad looks in black on black accessorized with hats and hoods. Multitasking designers Andrea Ferlin and Francesco Assenza also produce music and events, and will dj Premium’s party at club Cookies on Wednesday night.
Australian accessories designer Lauren Besser rounded out the winner’s circle with her Maripossa brand draped and woven multi-metal chain necklaces.
All the winners receive a stand at next season’s Premium trade fair, a presentation area at F95, and communications support in print and online. Also, salmon-leather maker Nanai will supply them with materials for the production of their upcoming collections.
