PRESENTING DUTIES: If Miley Cyrus was responsible for the buzz at last year’s “Night of Stars” gala, it’s up to a different generation’s Miley to provide the fun this year: Debbie Harry will be on hand at next Thursday’s Fashion Group International event to present Harper’s Bazaar’s Glenda Bailey with the Lord & Taylor Fashion Oracle award.
The Blondie singer is just one of the presenters confirmed for the event, which is themed “The Protagonists” and will take place at Cipriani Wall Street, with music by Lady Gaga collaborator Brian Newman and a performance by the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus.
Mary J. Blige will be on hand to present Elie Tahari with his brand-vision trophy, while Katie Couric will give the humanitarian award to Lisa Paulsen. Isabella Rossellini was tapped to present the sustainability honor to Roger Schmid for Natura, while People StyleWatch’s Susan Kaufman will give the corporate leadership award to Tom Kennedy for Fossil.
As for the night’s Star awards, presenters include Michelle Monaghan for Joseph Altuzarra; Marc Jacobs for Peter Copping; Andrew Bolton for Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton; Departures’ Richard David Story for Brunello Cucinelli; Domenico de Sole for William Sofield, and Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren of Viktor & Rolf for L’Oréal USA’s Carol Hamilton.
