PRINCESS DIARY: The Colleagues and Oscar de la Renta on Tuesday in Beverly Hills celebrated the 26th Annual Spring Luncheon, which this year honored Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco with the Champion of Children award. The princess’ own foundation focuses on teaching kids to swim and she is also a global ambassador for Special Olympics, which will be held next summer in Los Angeles.

“Caring for the most vulnerable is a noble cause, and I am deeply touched by this award and I want to share [it] worldwide with all those who are committed to children,” she said. Reese Witherspoon, who presented the award, said she was “inspired” by all 1,200 women present in the Beverly Wilshire ballroom, who raised funds on behalf of Children’s Institute Inc.

Eliza Reed Bolen represented the house of de la Renta, and said it was the first time they had dressed the princess.

It wasn’t master of ceremonies Angie Harmon’s first time at the rodeo, having received the Champion of Children award in 2008 and worn more de la Renta frocks than she could remember. Also in the mix at the Van Cleef & Arpels-sponsored event were Rochelle Gores Fredston, Claiborne Swanson Frank, Katherine and Jane Ross, Angelique Soave and Kathy Hilton.
