A few famous faces were among the fashion crowd that made the trek to Red Hook, Brooklyn Wednesday night for Rachel Comey’s spring 2016 show — where they also were treated to a three-course dinner presented by Bon Appétit Feast or Fashion, a tradition for the designer, and a performance by singer-songwriter Justin Vivian Bond.
Debbie Harry, Parker Posey, Cindy Sherman, Paul Dano, Zoe Kazan and Tracee Ellis Ross turned out for the nighttime affair inside the behemoth Pioneer Works Center for Art and Innovation, which had a “real-feel” temperature of about 110 degrees, leading some guests to turn their menus into paper fans.
Between working on new material and traveling to Paris and Milan for upcoming events, Harry, who rarely finds herself in Brooklyn, said she’s got a few things cooking for New York Fashion Week. “We’re not really close friends, but I’ve been to a couple of her shows; she’s terrific,” the singer said of Comey, maneuvering the space’s rocky garden area in studded flip-flops. “I’m going to the Givenchy show, I’m very excited about that. I also just found out that I’m going to Marc’s show. His shows are always so intense; I love them…It’s like theater, really.”
