RUGBY BASH: Ralph Lauren’s Rugby label hosted a crew of young London names and bloggers at the label’s newly minted store in London’s Covent Garden Monday night. Guests including Bip Ling, actor Freddie Highmore and blogger Kirsten Knox all gathered to sip Budweisers and take in the ultra-preppy, wood-paneled surroundings of the store.

For Knox, who writes the Clothes Whisperer blog, the experience was nothing new — she’d worked in the first Rugby store in Boston as a student. “I feel like I should be folding sweaters,” she said with a laugh. “It’s a bit like a home from home.”
As guests wandered the handsome two-floor store, they listened to the harmonies of Flats and Sharps, a young bluegrass band who hail from the unlikely location of Penzance, Cornwall. In addition to their turn for Rugby, the four young band members — who play the mandolin, banjo, double bass and guitar — played the fashionable Port Eliot festival earlier this summer.
