RIDING HIGH: Charlotte Casiraghi will be back in the saddle for the Paris Eiffel Jumping, a new show-jumping competition held at the base of the Eiffel Tower, sponsored by Gucci. The event, organized by Virginie Coupérie-Eiffel and Longines, will run July 4 to 6, with the Gucci Gold Cup course on the final day coinciding with the start of Paris Couture Week.

Casiraghi, who gave birth to a baby boy in December, reunited with fellow Gucci equestrian ambassadors Edwina Tops-Alexander and Guillaume Canet during a press conference on Tuesday morning at Paris city hall. The French actor and director, who is also Marion Cotillard’s beau and the father of their two-year-old son, has eased up on cinema to focus more on horse riding. “I joined the girls’ group,” Canet said, referring to the three other Gucci equestrian ambassadors also including Jessica Springsteen.

While he said he doesn’t miss cinema, Canet told WWD he appears in three films coming out this year including a biopic of Lance Armstrong by Stephen Frears. Does he give any tips to Casiraghi as of the parental part? “She doesn’t need any. She is handling perfectly,” he said.

French chef Alain Ducasse also joined in the panel on Tuesday. The chef, whose restaurant empire includes Le Jules Verne restaurant located on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, is to conceive the meals destined for meeting spaces at the riding event. “I am coming as a neighbor,” he said.
