Rodarte and Mandarin Oriental New York have teamed up again. The Manhattan-based luxury hotel has tapped designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy for projects in the past — including a Rodarte New York City Guide last year — and for their newest collaboration, the Mulleavys designed a limited-edition series of scarves, the first of which will make its debut during New York Fashion Week.

For the design, the Mulleavys simply looked to the hotel’s 35th-floor perch overlooking the Upper West Side. “One of our favorite parts of the hotel is its iconic view over Central Park, especially during the winter,” said Kate Mulleavy. “The branches are meant to invoke the landscape of Manhattan.”
The inaugural scarf, which measures 48 by 48 inches and features an intricate black-and-white pattern with a touch of purple, will be available for $350 in the Spa Boutique at Mandarin Oriental’s New York City location beginning on Sept. 11.
