ROGERS SEEKS FUNDS: Jackie Rogers launched a Kickstarter campaign Monday to raise money for a new, lower-price collection called Jackies. So far, $410 has been raised toward Rogers’ $50,000 goal.
Rogers’ designer separates range between $895 and $5,000, and are made of fabrics including silk organza and French lace. The line is carried in specialty stores, as well as her Palm Beach boutique. Two years ago, she started translating her more popular designs into more wearable and affordable fabrics, including denim and cotton.

“Someone told me about Kickstarter and we made a great video and started it up yesterday,” said Rogers. “We’ve been lax on LinkedIn and Facebook, and now we’re going into social media. That’s where it’s at.”
She said she will use the proceeds to fund the company, which will produce everything in the U.S. The line will retail from $250 to $300. Eventually she hopes to sell it to stores in the U.S. and around the world. Rogers said the designs are ready to go and the workroom is geared up.
Asked whether it would take more than $50,000 to launch a new business, Rogers replied, “We’re hopeful we’ll get much more than that.”
