Rosetta Getty is adding footwear for spring, introducing three styles for its initial foray into the category: a heel, a clog and a flat, all hand-made in Italy.
Like the brand’s spring ready-to-wear collection, the shoes were inspired by land art and the manipulation of natural materials. Materials include unstained wood, custom-made brass, and natural vegetable-tanned vachetta leather. The clog and heel styles will also feature molded anatomic padding, a signature detail for the collection.
The shoes were featured in the Rosetta Getty Spring lookbook, which was released this season in lieu of a runway show. The shoes will be available beginning in February (points of distribution are still being confirmed), with prices ranging from $545 to $1,295.
Getty launched her Los Angeles-based company last February, partnering with brand management and investment firm The Dock. The amount of the investment was undisclosed; The Dock chief executive officer Matt Walker told WWD at the time, ” We typically take an equity position and would invest anywhere from $500,000 to up to $2 million into it.” Rosetta Getty has since dissolved its relationship with The Dock, splitting over the summer. The footwear launch is a self-funded venture.
