WICKED WAYS: There’s only so much breathing room a London designer has between the final runway bow and the next collection: For most, it’s less than 24 hours. “I’m off to Première Vision on Tuesday to choose my autumn/winter 2015 fabrics,” said Erdem Moralioglu, who showed his spring collection on Monday. “No rest for the wicked.”
Moralioglu joined guests including Christopher Kane, Jonathan Anderson, Roksanda Ilincic, Emilia Wickstead, Mary Katrantzou, Christopher Bailey, Henry Holland, Sandra Choi, Sir Philip Green, Amanda Wakeley, Joshua Schulman and Helen David at a cocktail party hosted by Britain’s first lady and British Fashion Council ambassador Samantha Cameron, with Natalie Massenet, the BFC’s chairman at No. 10 Downing Street, home and headquarters of the British prime minister.
“Look, there’s my old boss,” said Choi as Schulman walked over. “I miss those midnight emails,” she told him. “I’ll send you some more,” he replied with a smile. Choi said Jimmy Choo is planning “an adventure” in October that involves the new New Bond Street store. “Watch this space,” she said. Ilincic, who is headed to Première Vision later this week, also has big plans for later in the year. She’ll be working on a collaboration with the artist Eva Rothschild, although she said it’s still too early to talk about the details.
