MAXIN’ AND RELAXIN’: Samsung Mobile will again be sponsoring Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week — and this time around, the electronic company is also going backstage. The Samsung Galaxy Blue Room, located backstage between the two main runways at Lincoln Center and equipped with an “Air Gesture” cocktail bar and a snacks menu, will serve as a space for designers, models and VIPs to get ready for fashion shows. The area will also feature two crowd-sourced art projects that will be created, built and altered by guests. For one, guests will be able to use Samsung devices to “digitally tag” their favorite fashion week moments in a mixed-media, collaborative art piece to be displayed on a Samsung TV. There will also be a wall of guests’ cell phone photos displayed as a mosaic. Inside Lincoln Center’s lobby, Samsung Galaxy’s main lounge will return — with an upper-level as well — offering workstations equipped with wi-fi, battery swaps for Samsung users, design stations, coffee and cocktails.
