SCOTTISH HONORS: A slew of designers and brands have earned high Scottish fashion distinctions at the 11th edition of the yearly awards ceremony held at the Rosewood London on Friday.
Glaswegian designer Charles Jeffrey won Young Designer of the Year award while Burberry’s new campaign face model Jean Campbell was awarded Model of the Year. Holly Fulton was bestowed the Fashion Innovator Award for her creativity and commercial endeavors.
Christopher Kane earned the Scottish Designer of the Year award while Pringle of Scotland scooped up Textile Brand of the Year. Burberry Edinburgh was honored with the Luxury Retailer of the Year and Prada was named International Designer of the Year. Pam Hogg was recognized as the Fashion Icon 2016.
According to event founder Tessa Hartmann, the awards is “a benchmark of success for the Scottish fashion industry” and provides a platform to “honor and showcase the best creative, fashion, design and textile talent hailing from Scotland.”
David Mundell, secretary of state for Scotland who cohosted the event, said: “These awards illustrate that Scotland punches above its weight in the global fashion market place and that’s something that I am thrilled to be a part of.”
