FIVE SHADES OF SUEDE: Seafarer, the brand known for its bell-bottoms with front pockets, has teamed with Italian leather specialist Drome on a pair of stretch leather trousers in suede. The trousers will come in five shades of suede.
“We have wanted to enrich our collections with leather for a long time,” said Seafarer chief executive officer, Massimiliano Tabacchi, one of the five investors behind the relaunch of the brand in 2013. “Leather is very linked to the Seventies,” he told WWD, noting the brand will maintain its focus on denim and other fabrics.
The pants will sell for 995 euros, $1,087 at current exchange, in retailers such as Colette in Paris, Excelsior in Milan and MC Market in Monaco starting in July. Seafarer is currently distributed in around 200 doors internationally.
